PENSACOLA, Fla. – The first pitch has been thrown in the spring season for University of West Florida Athletics, as the UWF baseball, golf, softball, and tennis teams are ready for their 2010 campaigns. The Argonaut basketball teams are also in the stretch run, as both teams are fighting for a return to the Gulf South Conference Tournament in March. UWF Men's Golf Jumps to Second at Golfweek Spring Invitational
ORLANDO, Fla. – Just one round away from winning their first tournament of the spring season, the University of West Florida men’s golf team shot a combined score of 294 to end the second round of the Golfweek Spring Invitational in second place, shooting an overall score 591 just two strokes off of second day leader Nova Southeastern. Freshman Blake Olson (Pensacola, Fla./Pensacola Catholic HS) led the effort for the Argonauts, finishing with a two under par 70 while sophomore Ryan Black (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Lincoln Park Academy) came in with a 71. UWF Splits Doubleheader with Rollins
PENSACOLA, Fla. – In doubleheader action on Sunday afternoon, the University of West Florida baseball team split with Rollins college, taking game one 6-2 before dropping the second game 2-0. West Florida starting pitcher Kevin Johnson was solid in game one, tossing a complete game to improve his record to 2-0 on the young season. [+]
Argonauts Tied For Fourth After First Round of Golfweek Invitational
ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of West Florida men’s golf team finished their first round of the spring season in dominating fashion, compiling a nine over par 297 to put the team in fourth place and just six strokes off first place Lander at the Golfweek Spring Invitational Saturday. [+]
