Newcomers Lead West Florida to 3-0 Win in Season Opener
MOBILE, Ala. – Junior Matthew Aldred (Eastbourne, England/Loughborough) and sophomore Andre Verardi (Porto Alegre, Brazil/Embry-Riddle) accounted for all the offense in West Florida’s 3-0 win at Spring Hill in the 2010 men’s soccer season opener on Thursday. Both players scored in their UWF debuts, as Verardi broke the game open with a goal in the 31st minute and Aldred added goals in the 33rd and 52nd minutes. [+]
GAME NOTES: Argos Set to Open 2010 Season on the Road
MOBILE, Ala. - The West Florida men’s soccer team will open the 2010 season on the road this weekend, starting with a Thursday evening match at NAIA rival Spring Hill at 5:00 p.m. and followed by a trip north to face Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. UWF last started a season with a road trip in 2008, finishing the weekend 1-0-1 after a 2-0 win at Flagler and a 1-1 tie at Thomas (Ga.). UWF Men's Cross Country to Open 2010 Season in Arizona
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The UWF men’s cross country team is hoping last year’s strong finish will catapult them into a successful 2010 season. The Argonauts outraced two higher ranked teams in each of the final two meets of the season to finish as the fifth-ranked team in the NCAA South Regional. The men return five of the top eight runners from last year and are ranked sixth in the south region in the USTFCCCA Preseason Division II Cross Country Rankings. [+]
