Steinocher Named GSC Cross Country Runner of the Week
UWF Runner Earns Award After First Collegiate Race
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – West Florida women’s cross country runner Megan Steinocher (Lawrenceville, Ga./Mill Creek HS) was named Gulf South Conference Runner of the Week on Wednesday. The freshman won the individual title at her first collegiate event on Tuesday, winning the Choctaw Season Opener hosted by Mississippi College.
Steinocher posted a 15:49 for the 4k course, winning by 21 seconds over Tunisia Milner of Jackson State. She becomes the second GSC Runner of the Week in UWF women’s cross country history, as sophomore Bailee Hedstrom picked up the first last season.
