UWF Tennis Against Valdosta State Pushed Until Following Day
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The West Florida tennis teams began competition against Gulf South Conference rival Valdosta State this Friday afternoon at the Ralph “Skeeter” Carson Tennis Complex, and the matches had to be suspended due to illumination issues on the court. The men’s team leads the Blazers 2-1, while the women’s team is 4-1 behind the Lady Blazers.
Playing its only double-header of the season and coming off of a 7-2 win over No. 21 Drury in the morning, The No. 7 West Florida men’s squad had a 2-1 lead after doubles play over the No. 3 Valdosta State, and all six singles matches were on court at the moment of stoppage. The No. 9 West Florida women’s were down 4-1, as the No. 6 Lady Blazers got the 2-1 lead in doubles and managed to win at No. 5 and 6 singles.
