Argonaut Weekly - Week 4 Recap
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The West Florida Argonauts posted perhaps their best collective effort of the fall season last week, scoring victories in multiple sports. Volleyball opened Gulf South Conference play with two wins and went 3-0 on the week, women's soccer took down two opponents by a combined margin of 13-2 and men's soccer notched a victory over a top-10 opponent for the first time this season. In addition, men's cross country was victorious in their lone home meet of the season.
ARGONAUTS OF THE WEEK
Bonning (Skanor, Sweden/Sundsgymnasiet) led the Argonauts to a 2nd place finish at the Adams Cup of Newport, finishing above 15 NCAA Division I teams. Bonning shot rounds of 72-73-74-219 to finish tied for fourth individually. He finished the event just five shots away from medalist honors and scored his second top-10 result of the season.
Duncan (Kingston, Jamaica/Darton College) posted a monster week for the Argonauts, tallying four goals and four assists in two victories. On Wednesday against Spring Hill, Duncan notched a hat trick and contributed two assists in a 7-1 victory over Spring Hill College. Then on Saturday, the reigning NSCAA National Player of the Year added a goal and two more assists in a 6-1 victory over Lynn. Duncan earned GSC Player of the Week honors for her fine week. She now has eight goals and six assists this season.
