Argonaut Weekly - Week 14 Recap

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The West Florida women’s basketball team took center stage last week, going 2-1 for the week and improving to 5-3 on the season.  The Argonauts lost on the road to Georgia Southwestern, but the team returned home and picked up wins over Eckerd and Columbus State at the Highpointe Hotel Corporation UWF Argo Classic.  Meanwhile, the men’s basketball team has been off since last Monday, and they will be back in action along with the women’s team on Sunday, Dec. 12 at Delta State.

Howard led West Florida to a pair of wins at the Highpointe Hotel Corporation UWF Argo Classic, with each victory coming against a team with a winning record. Against Eckerd on Friday, UWF trailed by as many as eight points before Howard caught fire, going 3-3 from long range and scoring 20 points. On Saturday, in a win over previously-unbeaten Columbus State, Howard scored 11 points and led UWF with four assists.  On Wednesday at Georgia Southwestern, Howard tallied a career-high eight assists.
