Erland Named to GSC All-Academic Team
Eight Argonauts Earn GSC Honor Roll Distinction

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – West Florida sophomore forward Emily Erland was named to the Gulf South Conference Women’s Basketball All-Academic Team, it was announced today by the Conference office. Erland is one of nine honorees on the 2010-2011 squad.
Erland, an English major, recorded a 3.73 GPA over the past semester. This is the first GSC All-Academic team selection for the native of Pegram, Tenn.
On the court, Erland was one of just six Argonauts to play all 26 games in 2010-11. She averaged 2.8 points per game and hit 47.6% of her three-point field goal attempts. The sophomore scored a season-high 13 points in a win over Lambuth on Feb. 19.
Joining Erland on the GSC Women’s Basketball Honor Roll are teammates Kelseigh Hughes, Lauren Fagler and Krissy Diggs. Men’s basketball student-athletes Anthony Sims, Mike Whisman and Peter Connole were named to the GSC Men’s Basketball Honor Roll.
