Argonaut Weekly - Week Four Recap

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida volleyball team moved to 2-0 in Gulf South Conference play after taking down both Christian Brothers and North Alabama, 3-1. Both wins came on the road and the Argonauts are now winners of their last four games. Men’s soccer defeated William Carey after a Dillon Gallet hat trick while women’s soccer picked up its 50th straight GSC win with a 5-1 victory over West Alabama. Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams earned a 6th place finish at the Florida State Invitational out of 17 teams.

Autumn Duyn
Freshman

Autumn Duyn (Venice, Fla.) was good for 39 kills during the UWF volleyball team’s 3-0 week. Duyn helped lead the team to a home victory over the University of New Orleans and a pair of GSC road wins over Christian Brothers and North Alabama. Duyn slammed home the winning point for the Argos against the Lions and helped improve the team to 2-0 in conference play.

Dillon Gallet
Freshman

Dillon Gallet (Lafayette, La.) picked up a hat trick as the Argos dropped William Carey, 4-2, at home this past week. The loss was the first for William Carey and helped move West Florida to 4-2-1 on the season as the Argos remain undefeated at home. Gallet now has five goals on the year.

Head Coach

Head women’s soccer coach Joe Bartlinski helped his team grab its 50th straight GSC win this past weekend with a 5-1 in over West Alabama. Aveann Douglas (Arima, Trinidad) and Tina Murray (Kingston, Jamaica) both scored a pair of goals during the historic win for West Florida.
