UWF to Hold 4th Annual Pink Zone Breast Cancer Awareness Game
“Best Pizza in Town” Contest Will Also Be Held
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will be holding its fourth Annual Pink Zone breast cancer awareness women's basketball game on Thursday, February 9 at 5 p.m. against Gulf South Conference rival North Alabama. Donations for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund will be accepted at the door in lieu of tickets. Free pink t-shirts will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. Rally towels will also be sold for $1.
UWF will also hold a “Best Pizza in Town” contest in between the women's and men's basketball games on Thursday. The men's game time is set for 7 p.m., also against North Alabama, in the UWF Field House. Participating restaurants will include Domino's, Pizza Palooza, Hungry Howie's, Little Caesar's, and more. Prices will be $1 a slice for students and $2 a slice for general admission. Fans will have a chance to taste and cast their vote for the local business with the best pizza. Representatives from each business will be in attendance to hand out promotional materials to fans and answer any questions.
