Argos on the Climb, Ranked No. 6 Nationally
South Region Lands Five in Top Ten
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The West Florida baseball team is on the climb in the national rankings stepping up from No. 7 to No. 6 in the College Baseball Lineup rankings and from No. 8 to No. 6 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll, it was announced earlier this week. Last week the Argonauts had a mid-week sweep of Division-I opponent Mississippi Valley State and took two of three from Arkansas Tech over the weekend.
The Argos grabbed 392 points in the CBN poll to rank No. 6 in the nation, tied with St. Cloud St. who jumped from No. 10. Five south region schools rank inside the top ten but holding the top spot in both the CBL and CBN rankings is Central Missouri with 480 points.
UWF also leaped from No. 18 to No. 15 this week in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll. The NCBWA moved UWF up one spot in the south region rankings now tied third with Gulf South Conference foe Delta State with 71 points. UWF will face DSU March 31 and April 1 at Jim Spooner Field.
