West Florida Enters NCAA South Region Tournament Ranked No. 24

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The West Florida baseball team will enter the NCAA South Region Tournament ranked No. 24 in Collegiate Baseball Newspaper’s national poll. The Argos are 34-17 on the year and look to defend their 2011 NCAA South Region Championship May 18-21 in Tampa, Fla.

West Florida jumped into CBN’s national rankings grabbing the No. 24 spot with 84 points. Tampa remains ranked No. 1 with 480 points. UWF’s round one opponent at the NCAA South Region Tournament, Nova Southeastern, ranks No. 28 with 46 points.

The Argos fell from No. 22 to No. 25 in this week’s CBL rankings. Five of the eight teams headed to the NCAA South Region Tournament rank inside the top 15, including West Florida’s round one opponent No. 12 Nova Southeastern.
