PENSACOLA, Fla. – After a 2011-12 season that saw the University of West Florida women's golf squad capture its sixth Gulf South Conference championship, the Argonauts have their sights set even higher in 2012-13 with a competition schedule that is rife with challenges on the links.  The Argos' schedule includes four tournaments in the fall and five in the spring under new head coach Bryan Clarke.

For the second consecutive season, the Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate in Sevierville, Tenn., on Sept. 10 will mark the beginning of the fall season. Last season, the Argonauts finished in third place among the 10 teams in the tournament hosted by South Atlantic Conference member Carson-Newman.

Following their initial intercollegiate golf test, West Florida heads south to Daytona Beach, Fla. for the NCAA Women’s Division II Fall Preview at the LPGA International on Sept. 16-18. The Argos will then head to Palm Beach Gardens at the Guy Harvey Shark Invitational hosted by preseason No. 1 and four-time defending national champion Nova Southeastern on Oct. 8-9. The last tournament of the fall season will be played at the UAB Fall Beach Blast in Gulf Shores, Ala. on Oct. 29-30.

UWF will tee off the spring season at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C. hosted by Tusculum College on Feb. 2-3. Subsequently, the Argos will head to one of the top Division II tournaments in the country, the Lady Moc Classic hosted by preseason No. 2 Florida Southern on Feb. 25-26. The Argonauts will then head to Winter Springs, Fla. on Mar. 4-5 for the USA Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational at the Tuscawilla Country Club.  UWF will then compete in the Lady Eagle Invitational hosted by Southern Mississippi on Mar. 11-12, and they will close out the regular season at the Samford Women’s Intercollegiate hosted by Samford University in Hoover, Ala. at the Hoover Country Club on Apr. 8-9.

The Argonauts finished first in the Gulf South Conference championships in 2012, bringing their burgeoning cache of conference titles to six.  For information on all UWF Athletics, visit www.GoArgos.com.
