Argonauts prepare and serve dinner at Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen
UWF engages in one of many community service outings of 2012

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Trading in its usual afternoon preseason training regimen of serving, setting and spiking, the University of West Florida volleyball team set out on a different mission of team building on Tuesday (August 21).
Spaghetti, pizza, bread and salad were just some of the items on the menu at Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen on Tuesday evening courtesy of the Argonauts. All 20 players and coaches that make up the 2012 UWF volleyball roster hauled in armloads of food to Loaves & Fishes to provide a hot meal to those who otherwise not have had one.
The players and coaches spent roughly three hours at the soup kitchen cooking dinner, preparing drinks and setting up enough tables and utensils to accommodate upwards of 80 people. They were assisted by the director of operations at Loaves & Fishes, Kelli Thomas.
In the video, head coach Melissa Wolter, sophomore K.C. Dobbins and junior Abby Timmer talk about the importance of community service projects like this one as they pertain to the student-athlete experience at the University of West Florida.
