Mathis to play in Romanian Division A League
Former Argo to take his talents to compete for Farul Constanta
CONSTANTA, Romania – Former Argonaut Marquis Mathis will be the second member of last year’s men’s basketball team to begin a professional career in Europe. Mathis will play for Farul Constanta in Constanta, Romania this fall.
Farul Constanta is a member of the 16-team Division A league, which is the highest level of play in Romania. Mathis’ first tournament will begin Sept. 28.
While at UWF, Mathis was named to the Second Team All-GSC in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 and the Daktronics All-South Region Second Team in 2011-2012. He finished second on the team in scoring last season with 495 points and an average of 16.5 points per game.
