Homme earns fifth career GSC Player of the Week honor
The accolade is the first in 2012 for Homme
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Argonaut volleyball player Lindsay Homme picked up her first weekly accolade of the 2012 season Tuesday when the Gulf South Conference announced her as the GSC Offensive Player of the Week. It is the fifth time in her career she has earned a GSC Player of the Week nod.
The spear point of No. 17 West Florida’s (6-5, 3-0 GSC) attack on its opening weekend of undefeated GSC play, Homme (Willowbrook, Ill./Hinsdale Central HS) amassed 37 kills in nine sets for 4.41 kills per frame at a .412 attack rate. Her stellar performance, which included 15 kills against Shorter as the weekend-high, extended her streak of double-figure kills to seven consecutive matches.
The Argonauts continue its GSC slate this weekend with three matches on the road, beginning with Christian Brothers Friday at 6 p.m. West Florida faces Union on Saturday at 3 p.m. and North Alabama Sunday at 1 p.m. For information on all UWF athletics, visit www.GoArgos.com.
