Argos ranked No. 1 in latest NSCAA poll
UWF maintained the No. 1 spot in the South Region for the fifth consecutive week

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The West Florida women’s soccer team moved up to No. 1 in the NSCAA/Continental Tires Division II poll, and maintained the No. 1 spot in the South Region for the fifth consecutive week.
The Argonauts (11-1-0, 5-0-0 Gulf South Conference) earned the top spot after spending two weeks ranked No. 2.
It is the first time the Argos have been ranked No. 1 since the end of 2009 season when they entered the postseason ranked No. 1 on Nov. 10.
The national rankings reflect records as of Sunday, Oct. 7.
North Alabama was the only other GSC team to be ranked in the top 25, maintaining the No. 14 spot in the nation and the No. 2 spot in the South Region.
The last UWF sports team to be ranked No. 1 in a major poll was the baseball team, which was ranked No. 1 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Poll on March 6.
