GAME NOTES: UWF to play West Georgia, Valdosta State
Argos look to improve on their 11-1 record

PENSACOLA, Fla. - No. 1 West Florida (11-1-0, 5-0-0 Gulf South Conference) will host West Georgia (3-5-3, 2-1-2) Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the UWF Soccer Complex in a conference match before taking on Valdosta State (10-1-1, 3-1-1) Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at home in a nonconference match.
The Argos are ranked No. 1 in the South Region for the fifth consecutive week, while VSU is ranked No. 4 for the second consecutive week.
The Argos are 9-0 all-time against UWG, and defeated the Wolves 1-0 last season in Carrollton, Ga. on Sept. 30. and are 1-0-1 all-time against VSU and defeated the Blazers 5-0 at home on Oct. 2 last season.

History with Valdosta
VSU eliminated UWF in the GSC semifinals on penalty kicks 5-3 after the two teams tied 2-2 during regulation. The Blazers went on to lose to North Alabama to finish runner-up at the GSC Tournament.
Keeping the Streak Alive
UWF has built an 8-game regular-season winning streak against GSC opponents dating back to last season and a 6-game regular-season winning streak against GSC opponents in conference matches. In addition, the Argos boast an 18-game winning streak against South Region opponents during the regular season.

Ranked No. 1
The Argos are ranked No. 1 in the GSC in the following categories:
Points per Game (8.75), Shots (238), Shots per Game (19.83), Goals (39), Goals per Game (3.25), Corners (90) and Corners per Game (7.50).
Ranked No. 2
The Argos are ranked No. 2 in the GSC in the following categories:
Points (105), Assists (27), Assists per game (2.25), Shutouts (4), Goals Allowed (11) and Goals Against Average (0.92).
Malavassi adds mid-season boost
Senior Monica Malavassi has seen more playing time since returning from an injury that sidelined her early in the season. The two-time All-South Region honoree made her first two starts last weekend and has played 236 minutes in the Argos last six games.
Malavassi made an immediate impact for UWF, scoring a goal in her second game of the season against Delta State on Sept. 23. She is second on the team with four goals and has one assist.
Iron Women
Senior Tori Fish has started 51 consecutive games for the Argos dating back to the 2010 season. Senior Rachel Cutts has started 33 consecutive games dating back to 2010, and sophomore Kelly Andres has started every game of her career at UWF with 30 starts.
Bush and Palmer lead Argo attack
Shelby Bush and Chelsea Palmer have each been named the GSC Player of the Week once this season.
While Bush has led the team in goals scored for the entire season, Palmer tied her for the lead with her eighth goal of the season against West Alabama on Oct. 5, but Bush scored a goal against Armstrong three days later.
Palmer leads the Argos with seven assists and is tied with Bush with 23 points.
Bush leads the team with 24 shots on goal while Palmer is second with 20.
