PENSACOLA, Fla. – Sophomore Julianne Gaubron (Niceville, Fla./Niceville HS) scored the first goal of her Argonaut career as the West Florida women’s soccer team defeated Valdosta State 1-0 Sunday afternoon.

Chelsea Palmer (Plano, Texas/Tyler JC) sent a long throw in to Sashana Campbell (Manchester, Jamaica/Darton) near the side of the VSU box late in the second half. Campbell crossed it to Gaubron in the box and she shot it in at the 71:04 mark for the lone score of game.

UWF (13-1-0, 6-0-0 Gulf South Conference) extended its winning streak against GSC opponents to 10 games, although the game against Valdosta (10-2-2, 3-1-1) was not a conference event.

The Argos’ shutout was their second consecutive scoreless victory, fifth of the season and marked the first time that UWF won consecutive matches with a shutout since Oct. 7 2011 when the Argos won four consecutive matches with a combined score of 9-0.
