Unbeaten streak continues
After two losses to open the season, the Argonauts have not been defeated over their last 10 games.  During that stretch, the team is 8-0-2 and has outscored opponents 24-9.  The team’s longest winning streak in school history is 18 games set in 2007.

UWF fourth in NCAA regional rankings
The first set of regional rankings was released this week by the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Committee, and UWF came in fourth.  The top three teams in the South Region will earn bids to the tournament, so the Argos will do everything they can to jump into the top three.

1. Lynn (11-1 in Division II play)
2. Rollins (7-3-2)
3. Tampa (7-4-1)
4. West Florida (6-2-2)
5. Palm Beach Atlantic (8-2)

Déjà vu all over again
The Argonauts’ 1-1 tie against Union last week mirrored the first contest between the two teams, which also ended in a 1-1 tie.  Those two ties are the only non-wins for the Argonauts in their first eight games in GSC play.  The result was no surprise for Union, who has now totaled four draws on the season.

Gallet leads the attack
Sophomore Dillon Gallet has been very active on offense for UWF, contributing to seven goals over the last six games.  Over that span, the Louisiana native has tallied two goals himself and added five assists.  His five assists now lead the team and rank second in the GSC.

This weekend’s opponents
The Argos will face Christian Brothers (7-5-1, 5-2-1 GSC) on the road on Friday, and CBU will be looking to avenge a 1-0 loss to UWF earlier in the season.  Jose Ferraz is the leading scorer for the Buccaneers, totaling seven goals and four assists.  Jaime Garcia is a strong goalkeeper for CBU, allowing 1.19 goals per game with a .674 save percentage

Delta State (6-7-1, 2-4 GSC), the Argos’ Sunday opponent, has showcased star forward Caue DaSilva this year.  The Brazilian freshman leads the team and the conference with 12 goals this year, including three multi-goal games.  The Statesmen have had some defensive struggles, allowing 2.17 goals per game.
