GAME NOTES: UWF travels to West Alabama
Argos look to remain undefeated in GSC play

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The NSCAA No. 4 Argonauts will take on Gulf South Conference No. 2 West Alabama on the road at Tiger Stadium Sunday. The Argos defeated UWA in a nonconference match 3-0 at home during their homecoming match on Oct. 5.
West Alabama is coming off a 3-0 loss to West Georgia in a nonconference game on Oct. 14 and is 0-3-1 since playing UWF earlier in the season. UWF is 3-1-0 since then, with the Argos only loss of the season coming against then-No. 7 Armstrong. UWF has outscored opponents 11-0 since the loss with three consecutive shutouts.

Shutout streak at three
Defending GSC Defender of the Week Sarah Story recorded her third consecutive shutout on senior night against Shorter on Oct. 17. Story is a three-time DOW. The streak is the longest since UWF shut out four consecutive opponents from Sept. 30-Oct. 7 last season. She’s been assisted by strong play from Argo defenders Rachel Cutts, Kelly Andres, and Taylor Harbison.
Iron Women
Senior Tori Fish has started 54 consecutive games for the Argos dating back to the 2010 season. Senior Rachel Cutts has started 36 consecutive games dating back to 2010, and sophomore Kelly Andres has started every game of her career at UWF with 33 starts.
Palmer dominating offensively
Junior Chelsea Palmer has been a force on offense for the Argos recently. She has three goals and three assists in her last three games and six goals and five assists in her last six games. She is tied with Shelby Bush for the team lead with 11 goals on the season and leads the team with 10 assists.
Those marks are good for tied-for-third (with Bush) in the GSC in goals and first in the conference in assists. She is third in points (32).
UWF leads NCAA Regional Rankings
In the first set of NCAA Regional rankings released Oct. 18, the Argos were ranked No. 1 in the South Region. The top six teams in the region will play in the NCAA postseason, with the top two teams receiving first-round byes and hosting the first two rounds.
