Argos move up to No. 3 in NSCAA national rankings
UWF moves into the top 3 for the fourth time this season, maintains top spot in South Region rankings

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The West Florida Argonaut women’s soccer team moved up one spot to No. 3 in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tires Division II poll released Tuesday. UWF defeated Shorter 6-0 on Oct. 17 and West Alabama 3-0 on Oct. 21. The Argos have shut out their last four opponents and outscored them 14-0.
UWF (15-1-0) maintained its No. 1 ranking in the South Region for the seventh consecutive week.
The top two spots in the national poll stayed the same with Minnesota State-Mankato (14-1-1) holding on to the top spot and Armstrong Atlantic State (13-1-2) remaining second.
UWF traded places with last week’s No. 3 team LIU Post after the Pioneers tied unranked Queens College 1-1 on Oct. 20. Queens is ranked No. 10 in the East Region in the latest poll.
UWF was tied with No. 5 St. Edwards for the second-best winning percentage in Division II at .938 in the latest NCAA stats. The Argos were ranked fourth in scoring offense with 3.31 goals per game. NCAA stats are accurate through games played on Oct. 21.
The Argos will wrap up the regular season on the road this weekend against West Georgia on Friday at 7 p.m. ET and Valdosta State Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET.
UWF will host the Gulf South Conference Tournament from Nov.1-Nov. 4 at Ashton Brosnaham Park.
