Jeffcoat finalizes 2013 West Florida baseball schedule
Argos to open season Feb. 2 at home against Florida Southern

PENSACOLA, Fla. – West Florida baseball head coach Mike Jeffcoat has finalized the team’s 2013 regular season schedule, and the year will start at home against Sunshine State Conference rival Florida Southern on Feb. 2. The 49-game schedule will include 27 Gulf South Conference games and 22 non-conference contests.
The season-opening series against Florida Southern will start a six-game stretch against SSC foes, as the Argos will go on the road to face Rollins the second week of the season on Feb. 9-10. The following weekend on Feb. 15-17 the Argos will head to Dahlonega, Ga. to face Shorter, North Georgia and Millersville. The month of February will also include regional games against Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Albany State on Feb. 23-24.
GSC play will open the first weekend of March, as the Argos travel to Cleveland, Miss. to face defending conference champion and 2012 NCAA Division II runner-up Delta State on March 2-3. The rest of the month will feature GSC series against Valdosta State, Union (Tenn.), North Alabama and Alabama-Huntsville, but non-conference games will be mixed in against the likes of Miles and Columbus State.
UWF will play at the friendly confines of Jim Spooner Field for the majority of April, first hosting West Georgia on Apr. 6-7. The final series of the regular season will be on the road on Apr. 27-28, as the Argos will head to Livingston, Ala. to face West Alabama.
The Argonauts are coming off a season in which they finished 35-19 and earned their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance, and they will look to make it four in a row in 2013. For information on all UWF athletics, visit www.GoArgos.com.
