Alicia Wilson

After spending time playing professional soccer for six years from 2007-2012, Alicia Wilson rejoined the Argonaut coaching staff beginning in the spring of 2013.

In the fall of 2013, UWF went 18-1-3, set a conference-record unbeaten streak of 34 games and made an apperance in the NCAA Championship match before losing its only game of the season. UWF finished No. 1 in the NSCAA Poll that year.

Wilson worked with the UWF women’s soccer team from 2005-2007 as a graduate assistant. During that time, the Argos went 50-9-5 and 26-0 in the Gulf South Conference.

Wilson has played for the Jamaican national team since 2000, representing Jamaica in qualifying tournaments and serving as team captain.

In addition, she played for two seasons in a developmental league, the W-League, from 2004-2005. She played 13 games for the Asheville Splash and was named the player of the week twice in 2004. In 2005, she helped the New Jersey Wildcats win the W-League championship. While playing for New Jersey, she helped operate numerous youth camps.

Wilson went on to play three years of professional soccer in Iceland in 2006, 2007 and 2010 and was named among the top 11 players in the league. From 2008-2012, she played in the top women’s soccer league in Costa Rica for three seasons.

Wilson graduated with a bachelor’s degree of science in psychology from William Carey College in 2005 and was awarded a master’s in exercise science from UWF in 2007.

While at William Carey, Wilson was a four-time NSCAA NAIA All-American, four-time All-Gulf Coast Athletic Conference honoree and the conference Player of the Year in 2001.
