PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF basketball has moved its Saturday games vs. West Alabama up to 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. The games will be played at the UWF Field House. The women's contest will be played at 2:00 p.m. and the men's contest at 4:00 p.m.
The UWF women's basketball team overcame a number of challenges to escape Tuskegee with a 61-57 win at Chappie James Arena Tuesday night. The team has now won four straight and has moved to 6-2 overall on the season. The contest vs. West Alabama Saturday afternoon will be its second in GSC play. The team defeated Valdosta State at home Dec. 2 67-58.
The UWF men's basketball program came in at No. 13 in the Division II Sports Information Directors Association Top 25 poll released Tuesday. The Argos (9-0, 1-0 GSC) received 169 total points in the poll, 32 more than last week, as they climbed three spots from No. 16 to No. 13.
The men's team defeated then-No. 16 Valdosta State 97-88 on Dec. 2 before beating Spring Hill College 91-59 Dec. 10.
