Tradition
“So, Argonauts we are, in both senses of the word, with unrelenting courage and persistence, we can and shall pursue our course, which not even a dragon of an obstacle can discourage, and, though our shells are still, perhaps, paper thin, we will be found living self-motivated NOW and AFTER we have endowed our spirit to FUTURE ARGONAUTS” | So, what is an Argonaut anyway? According to Greek legend, the mythic crew of the ship Argo under the leadership of Jason embarked on a long, perilous voyage to capture and retrieve the golden fleece. These renowned heroes were called Argonauts. In 1967, the UWF student body selected the heroic Argonauts as their mascot, launching their own voyage of excellence that, to this day, continues to push boundaries. |
