Building Champions for Life Athletics Awareness Campaign

There’s a definite correlation between athletic accomplishments and success beyond athletics. Ask Sandy Sansing, one of Northwest Florida’s most prominent businessmen. Ask Coach Bob Stinnett and other alumni of the University of West Florida’s athletic program. They firmly believe UWF Athletics builds champions for life.
Argonauts have captured 50 NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference Championships in a variety of sports. While many UWF athletes have earned All-America credentials in their individual sports, they also are members of Scholar All-America teams. A rare feat. Argonaut scholar-athletes have a winning tradition on the playing fields and courts and in the classroom.
These talented individuals have career ambitions that extend across the globe. The prospects are bright for an aspiring Fortune 500 company attorney, a future financial wizard, a prospective pro sports psychologist and many more. For many of these students, those big dreams began at UWF.
Athletic director Dave Scott enthusiastically endorses the “building champions for life” philosophy. “We have smart, talented, and skilled student-athletes, who work hard to be the best they can be. They have been recruited here to represent the best of what is the University of West Florida. We get excited about student-athletes who excel in the game and in the classroom. These will be our community leaders of tomorrow.”
We invite you to become a frequent visitor to GoArgos.com for game schedules, rosters, athletic news and more. We hope you also will make plans to see the Argonauts in action at the UWF sports complex. Argonaut games are affordable and family-oriented, so come on out and support the home team.
