Mike Morgan | Men's Basketball
UWF HALL OF FAME - CLASS OF 2008-09
Men’s basketball alumnus Mike Morgan took the court at UWF from 1996-2000, and the Argonauts averaged nearly 20 wins in each of those four years. Morgan earned an All-GSC second team selection as a senior, and he led the team on and off the court as a two-year team captain. The Boca Raton, Fla. native is one of three UWF men’s basketball players to join the 1,000 point club, totaling 1,085 in his career. He also ranks among the program’s all-time best in nearly every offensive and defensive category. Morgan graduated with Honors in the UWF Computer Science program.
Morgan is now the Senior Software Engineer and Development Lead for SAIC (Science Applications International Corporation) in its Gulf Coast office in Shalimar. He is married to Christy Morgan, and they have two children, both boys. Aiden Luke Morgan is five years old, and Owen Louis Morgan is one and a half years old (as of January 2009).
Hall of Fame Questionnaire
1. What was your most memorable moment in UWF athletics?
My favorite memories from my time spent in UWF athletics has to be the time spent with my teammates and coaches. Never before have I been grouped together with such great people, who were always great fun.
2. Being a former student-athlete, how has it helped you in your life after college?
Learning to prioritize both school work and basketball went a long way in preparing me for balancing a career and home life after college.
3. Are you still involved with your sport? If so, in what capacity?
Only once a year. I play annually in the UWF alumni game.
