Office Phone: 474-2851
One of the two new faces to occupy the University of West Florida volleyball coaching circle in 2012, Alanah Gamwell joins the Argonauts as a student assistant coach.
A native of Houston, Texas, Gamwell replaces newly-minted assistant coach Patricia Gandolfo in the student coaching position. She possesses 11 years of volleyball experience with four of those coming from the coaching side. Directly after graduating from Klein Collins High School, Gamwell said farewell to the United States for a time, moving to Europe to join the Leeds Volleyball Club in Leeds, England. From 2009-10, Gamwell studied in such exotic locales as the United Kingdom, Austria and Spain while competing with her new team.
After her European tour, Gamwell returned to Texas where she enrolled at Lone Star College while obtaining her credentials to become a certified personal trainer. She has trained at 24 Hour Fitness, and has coordinated a pair of boot camps with Adventure Fitness Texas.
Gamwell seeks to complete her undergraduate coursework in exercise science at UWF over the upcoming years and is eager to join her mother and grandfather as UWF graduates.
