2019-2020 ADA ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

2020 (SENIOR): Made six appearances and four starts... went 2-0 with a 4.86 ERA... Pitched 16.2 innings... Struck out 16 while walking six... Had an impressive start against Southern Indiana on March 10th going 5.0 scoreless IP and allowing only one hit, earning the win in the game... Season was cut short due to COVID-19 Outbreak.

2019 (JUNIOR): Made 15 appearances and one start... went 2-2 with a 6.56 ERA... Had one save... Pitched 23.1 innings... Struck out 22 while walking 13... Enjoyed a streak of three straight scoreless appearances 3/31-4/13... Fired 2.2 scoreless innings of relief work vs. Nova Southeastern 5/17 in the South Regional

2018 (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in 10 games, making 3 starts... Struck out 27 batters over 30.1 innings of work, posting a 4.45 ERA... Had a 2.63 ERA over his final 5 outings (13.2 innings) of the season... Final appearance of the year was a 3.2-inning effort in which he did not allow a run and struck out four batters... Went 2.0 innings against Lee and struck out four while allowing just two hits... Threw 3.0 and 3.1 innings against Albany State and West Georgia, allowing just two hits and no runs between those two appearances. 

2017 (FRESHMAN): Posted a team-best 3.02 ERA in 18 appearances including four starts… Struck out 42 and walked 20 in 41.2 innings of work… Picked off a team-high three runners… Struck out a season-high seven in 3.2 innings of shutout relief against West Alabama on 4/8, only allowing three hits… Posted two innings of hitless relief against Christian Brothers on 3/27… Earned first collegiate win against Spring Hill on 2/8 with one run allowed over five innings pitched with six strikeouts… Led team with 31 relief innings on the season… Posted a team-best 1.69 ERA as a starter… Led the team with a 2.21 ERA in GSC play.

2016 (FLORIDA STATE): Redshirted season at FSU.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from George W. Jenkins High School in Lakeland … threw 44.2 innings and finished with 74 strikeouts and a 0.94 ERA as a senior … earned Polk County Pitcher of the Year honors in 2015 … named 7A First Team All-State in senior campaign … received Second Team All-County honors as a junior.

PERSONAL: Son of Suzanne and Darrin Middleton … has two siblings, Madison and Brandon … his father Darrin played football for one year at UCF … majoring in sports management.
