Maurice Thomas Named to All-GSC Second Team
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior guard Maurice Thomas (Milton, Fla./Pensacola JC) of the West Florida men’s basketball team was named to the All-Gulf South Conference second team, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday. With the award Thomas takes home his first All-GSC honor in three years with the Argonauts, as he led the team with 14.3 points and 5.4 assists per game. [+]
Huge Second Half Lifts UWF to 91-76 Win in Season Finale
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The West Florida men’s basketball team used a 59-point second half to defeat Concordia-Selma in the season finale on Senior Day at the UWF Field House on Tuesday. Senior forward Max Hoggard (Micanopy, Fla./P.K. Yonge HS) led the way with 24 points and added 12 rebounds for a double-double, and junior forward Ervin Herron (Memphis, Tenn./Bevill State CC) was just behind with 23 points. With the win the Argonauts finished the season with a record of 11-14 in Head Coach Bob Stinnett’s first season leading the UWF men’s basketball team. [+]
