Nick Lioce highly contributed to the Men’s Tennis program at University of West Florida as one of the most talented left-handed players in the program’s history. He finished in 1985 with a 15-23 season record, 1986 with a 23-9 season record, 1987 with a 21-10 season record, and 1988 with a 12-5 season record. He played #1 Singles and Doubles in 1985. In 1987 and 1988, he made the NAIA Academic All-American Team.
Lioce partnered in doubles with David Brandt and they ranked as the #1 doubles team from 1986-1988. In 1987, they reached the NAIA National Doubles Semi-finals. In 1987, both Lioce and Brandt were named NAIA All-American in doubles, and also the NAIA Men’s Volvo Tennis/All-American Doubles. By 1989, Lioce was named NAIA All-America Honorable Mention Doubles. Lioce was named UWF Athlete of the Year in 1988.
