COLUMBUS, Ga. – The 18th-ranked UWF women's basketball team suffered through a woeful shooting night in dropping a 70-64 decision to Columbus State at the Lumpkin Center Wednesday night.
UWF (2-1) shot just 29 percent and was 13-of-25 from the free throw line.
Junior Belle Bistrow had a career-high 15 points on 5-of-9 from outside. Senior Shami Goodman had 11 points off the bench with three 3-pointers. The duo combined for all eight of UWF's outside baskets.

Courtney Meyer collected her third-consecutive double-double with 11 points, 19 rebounds and seven blocks. She now has 194 career blocks, one away from tying the school record.
The Argonauts led 10-5 midway through the first quarter and 11-9 with 3:19 to play. Columbus State got back-to-back 3-pointers from Machala Raymonville and Tatum Jarvis to go up 15-11. The Cougars never trailed the remainder of the contest.
CSU led 20-14 after the first quarter and extended its lead to 32-21 with 2:30 in the half before taking a 37-28 advantage into the locker room.
The Argos fell behind 42-28 early in the third but battled back to tie the game at 48, only to see the Cougars answer with a 9-0 run. Raymonville had seven of her game-high 24 during the stretch as the home team ended the frame up 57-50.
UWF trimmed the deficit to 60-57 at the midpoint of the fourth. Over the next four minutes though, CSU held the Argos without a field goal and UWF went 1-for-7 at the line while they Cougars built a 68-59 lead.
CSU (1-0) shot 31 percent and outrebounded the Argos 63-48.
UWF will return to action on Tuesday night with a road game at Spring Hill. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center in Mobile, Alabama. The game will be the front-end of a doubleheader with the men's teams from each school.
