VALDOSTA, Ga. – The UWF women's basketball team suffered a poor shooting night in a 59-48 loss to Fort Valley State in the GSC/SIAC Challenge at The Complex on Saturday.
 
UWF (1-1) shot just 24 percent, including 5-of-28 in the first half in a game that it never led. Danielle Norquest paced the offense with 13 points and nine rebounds, including six on the offensive end of the floor.
 
The Argonauts fell behind 13-1 and trailed 31-18 at the half.
 
UWF scored the first 11 points in the third period to pull within 31-29. Fort Valley responded by scoring the next 11 points to get the margin back into double digits at 42-29. The Argos never got closer than eight points the rest of the game.
 
Nikki Culbreth led FVSU (1-1) with 13 points and three steals. The Wildcats shot 44 percent and scored 26 points off 23 Argo turnovers.
 
UWF will return to action on Friday morning when it plays host to Pensacola Christian at 10:30 a.m. on Education Day at the UWF Field House.
