PENSACOLA, Fla. – The UWF women's basketball team had its second-highest shooting game of the season but suffered a rough third quarter in falling to Columbus State, 73-55, at the UWF Field House on Wednesday.
 
UWF (2-5) shot 40 percent from the floor and outrebounded the Cougars 41-39.
 
Danielle Norquest posted her fourth double-double of the season with game highs of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Aline Fevrier scored a season-high 13 and matched Norquest with a team-best two steals.
 
CSU (5-1) shot 40 percent and finished with 14 steals off of 24 UWF turnovers, which they converted into 20 points. Leeaysia Williamson led three players in double figures with 16 points. 
 
The Argos trailed by eight points three times in the first quarter before closing the gap to 30-28 at the half. The Cougars came out and scored the first 14 points in the third to open up a 44-28 lead. CSU led by as many as 20 late in the contest.
 
UWF will continue its 4-game homestand Saturday when it plays host to Spring Hill as part of the Holiday Game doubleheader with the men's programs. The women's game will tip off at 2 p.m. followed by the men's contest.
 
Fans are encouraged to wear Holiday sweaters and Santa Claus will be in attendance for free pictures, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
