PenAir Field

The UWF athletics department unveiled Pen Air Field in February of 2016. The facility is part of the multi-phase project in the University Park section of campus. Pen Air Field has become a vital centerpiece to the Pensacola campus and a host to thousands who attend Argo gamedays.
The 120-yard state-of-the-art surface serves as the home field and primary practice facility for the UWF football program. It is also used as a training facility by the UWF Strength and Conditioning staff with all 15 intercollegiate sports.
In September of 2016, the University announced a $1 million gift from Pen Air Credit Union to support UWF football and officially name the field, Pen Air Field.
“At Pen Air Credit Union, our purpose is to enhance lives, and Pen Air Field embodies this commitment,” said Delbert Lee Morgan, President and CEO Pen Air Credit Union. “Beyond the field, our collaboration with UWF extends to empowering students and athletes with financial literacy and fostering leadership growth in our team through UWF-led programs. This partnership is more than just sports; it's a testament to our shared dedication to education, community development, and a brighter future for all.”
Since Fall 2014, Pen Air has also hosted the Financial Literacy Boot Camp in partnership with the University. Held each year, the boot camp hosts financial professionals as guest lecturers who present topics such as personal financial planning, planning for retirement, the advantages of tax-deferred savings and 401(k) plans and more, to prepare students with the essential financial literacy they require prior to accepting their first professional position after graduation.
Since 1936, Pen Air has been giving back locally throughout the communities they serve. They believe in and value the importance of connecting with the community. Supporting programs like UWF Athletics, Financial Education Boot Camps, scholarships and Pen Air Field, they are supporting our University and showing their "Communerosity®"
“We would not be where we are today without support from organizations like Pen Air Credit Union,” said UWF President Judith Bense. “For the past several years, they’ve been committed to serving the University through their generous financial contributions and academic and athletic program support. Now, they are investing in the future of UWF Football. We are incredibly grateful for their belief in the value of higher education and for their dedication to helping our University grow.”
While the $1 million gift will directly support UWF Football, this isn’t the first time Pen Air has helped UWF foster school spirit through athletics. The credit union also has served as a sponsor of the annual Athletic Hall of Fame banquet, Argonaut Scholarship Golf Tournament, football playoff runs and cancer awareness programming. Pen Air Field has been the host to the UWF Football regular season and multiple NCAA football championship playoff games. It has also hosted youth flag football, NFL combines, university functions
and corporate events. In 2023, Pen Air Field received a new state-of-the-art custom AstroTurf surface that includes a new design and bold Argo colors.
The future of Pen Air Field is bright as the university looks towards more growth and development of the stadium to be the premier sports facility in Northwest Florida.
