INDIANAPOLIS – The UWF women's swimming & diving team qualified three individuals and two relays into Thursday's evening session at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium.

UWF opened the morning prelims with an 11th-place effort in the 200 Freestyle Relay, setting a school record with a 1:33.98 time that placed the Argos into the consolation final and the first race of the session, which gets underway at 6:00 p.m. Eastern time.

Sophomore Madeline Pitt once again put herself in a position to add to the team total, placing 16th in the 400 Individual medley in 4:28.65.

The big event for the Argonauts was the 100 Butterfly where junior Theresa Michalak qualified third and senior Peggy de Villiers was 10th.

In the final individual event of the day – despite not advancing anyone into the evening finals – junior Rebecca Halfast matched the school record in the 200 Freestyle, completing the race in 1:51.55 for 16th place. De Villiers posted the same time in last year's NSISC meet. Sophomore Danica Burnett was 49th in a time of 1:55.80.

UWF swam the 400 Medley Relay in 3:51.73 and will compete in the consolation final to conclude the night's women's events.

UWF is in sixth place with 64 points. Defending champion Queens leads the field with 124 points, while Drury (86), Wingate (79), Wayne State (70) and UC-San Diego (70) are in the top five.
