PENSACOLA, Fla. – The ninth-ranked University of West Florida will make a trip to Tallahassee for a quad meet against Florida State, North Florida and Florida Southern on Saturday afternoon. This is the third consecutive year that the Argonauts have matched up with FSU and Florida Southern, and the first time since 2014 that UWF has seen North Florida.

Success has come from all around for UWF this season, with 15 top-3 finishes in 13 events against Tulane last Saturday and wins in 12 of 13 events against Loyola New Orleans and Thomas the day before.

Samantha Cochrane and Francesca Vozzola have each set the UWF freshman diving record in the 3-meter event this year, and Jesstina Farrell set the 1-meter freshman high mark in the first event of the season.

In the pool, the Argonauts have had strong swims from freshmen and upperclassmen alike. Madeline Pitt, a senior, and Caitlin Tierney, a freshman, have each recorded top 25 times in Division II in the 500 Free this semester, and Pitt ranks eighth in the 1000 Free (10:28.87), while fellow senior Grace Sommerville ranks 17th (10:35.22). Pitt also ranks 6th in the 400 IM (4:31.25) and 15th in the 200 Fly (2:08.48).

Freshman Morgan Ayers has top-25 times in the 100 Breast (1:06.55) and 200 IM (2:09.27) early in her Argonaut career, and sophomore Taby Read-Cayton ranks 25th in DII in the 50 Free this year with a 24.31 at the Shark Invitational.

FSU, which received votes in the latest Division I CSCAA poll and was ranked No. 23 nationally in the preseason, has been a frequent opponent for the Argonauts. The Seminoles were one of two visiting teams at UWF's first-ever meet on October 11, 2013, along with Tulane. FSU's 400 Medley Relay team broke a school record against Virginia Tech and Duke on October 14.

North Florida is coming off its senior day meet against Campbell and Florida Gulf Coast, where Jacqueline Barklund in the 100 Back (58.49) and 200 Back (2:09.61), Hannah Cordes in the 200 IM (2:15.17) and the 400 Free Relay team (3:40.76) all took second-place finishes.

Florida Southern recently finished behind Nova Southeastern and Drury at the DII Fall Showcase, while holding the edge over Florida Tech in Melbourne, Florida. The team also finished seventh at the Shark Invitational – where UWF finished fifth – earlier in October. The Mocs finished 37th at last year's NCAA Championships, bringing back all four members of their honorable mention All-America 800 Free Relay team.

The quad meet will begin at 1 pm ET in Tallahassee.
