LIVE RESULTS

PENSACOLA, Fla. – After finishing in second place about a month ago at the Shark Invitational in Fort Lauderdale, the Argos are looking to continue their success this weekend at Florida State.  They will compete against Florida State, Florida Southern, and North Florida at the Marcom Aquatics Center on Saturday afternoon at 1pm ET. This meet will be another great opportunity for the Argonauts' Swim Team to go up against tough competition. West Florida will take on ranked opponent #17 Florida Southern, and match up against a Division One School in Florida State University. This is the fourth consecutive year that UWF has matched up with Florida State and Florida Southern.

At the Shark Invitational UWF finished with 760 points total, just 198 points short of Nova Southeastern University who finished in first place. Nova Southeastern University is currently ranked number three in the nation by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. Lynn University (565.5 pts), Florida Tech (453.5 pts), and Keiser University (340 pts) round out the field at the invitational.

UWF's Dive Team will look to get back on track after a 16-2 loss to Division One Opponent, Alabama. Mariah Constantakos and Carson Bronnenberg finished third and fourth respectively. The pair finished just one point apart in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. Constantakos scored a 209.24 on the 3-meter, and a 194.40 in the 1-meter, while Bronnenberg scored a 208.58 and a 193.34 on the board, respectively.

Florida State is 4-0 overall with wins against Georgia Tech (189-110), Pittsburgh (197-102), Minnesota (176-124), and Arizona State (161-139).

North Florida is 1-4 going into the swim meet on Saturday. The Ospreys defeated Gardner-Webb (162-99), and lost to Florida Atlantic (169-93), Florida Gulf-Coast (78-53), Florida International (99-32), and UNC Asheville (138-124). In their last meet against UNC Asheville, North Florida had three Event Winners: Jacqueline Barklund in the 100 Back (59.56), Camryn Greenleaf in the 100 Free (54.28), and Ryan Showfety in the 200 Back (2:11.07).

Florida Southern is currently 1-2 this season, coming off of back to back losses to the University of Tampa and Saint Leo University. The Mocs finished 18th at last year's NCAA Championships, bringing back three of the four members of their honorable mention All-America 800 Free Relay team.
