Argos Split on First Day of UWF Invite

West Florida defeats Birmingham Southern in first day of competition

MOULTRIE, Ga. – Mariah Constantakos recorded a qualifying score of 396.90 on the first day of competition for the University of West Florida diving team, at the UWF Dive Invite in Moultrie, Georgia, on Saturday. The Argonauts fell 6-3 to Georgia Southern and defeated Birmingham Southern 8-1 in 1-meter competition.
 
Constantakos, who advanced to the NCAA Diving Qualifier in each of her first three years at UWF, finished second overall in the 1-meter, while junior Carson Bronnenberg finished fifth overall with a 372.80. Bronnenberg's score put her ahead of all Birmingham Southern divers and within five points of a fourth-place finish.
 
The UWF Dive Invite continues on Sunday with 3-meter diving.
