PENSACOLA, Fla. – West Florida will hit the road for New Orleans, Louisiana to compete in their last regular season meet against Loyola New Orleans and Tulane University on Saturday afternoon at 3pm CT.
Tulane is 2-2 overall with a 3
rd place finish at the Phill Hansel Invitational in November. The Green Wave lost to Houston by a total of three points in their season opener, and were defeated by LSU 187-108. They beat Georgia Southern University in their last head to head meet, 210-90.
Senior Paris Zhang has been a standout swimmer for the Green Wave this year, winning two individual races and contributing to two relay victories at their meet in Statesboro, Georgia. She won the 100-Yard Breaststroke by posting a time of 56.21 and the 200-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:04.91.
The Argonauts have already faced Loyola New Orleans earlier this season, defeating the Wolf Pack 185-55 at the UWF Aquatic Center. The Wolf Pack are coming into this meet having lost their last six head to head meets, with the last one being to Incarnate Word University 190-67. Loyola New Orleans has a 2-7 overall record with an 8
th place finish at the Tiger Invitational in November. The Wolf Pack squared off with Tulane earlier this year, losing to the Green Wave 250-40.
The UWF Dive team won both of the Diving Events at last weekend's meet.
Jesstina Farrell finished in first place in both events, posting a score of 289.15 in the 1 MTR and a score of 279.30 in the 3 MTR. Senior
Mariah Constantakos came in second in both diving events with a score of 249.30 in the 1 MTR and a score of 255.70 in the 3 MTR. Freshman swimmer
Ester Rizzetto finished in first place for the 100-Yard Freestyle with a time of 52.31 at last weekend's meet as well.
