Argonauts Seek to Continue Hot Start to Season in Birmingham on Saturday

UWF will Face Birmingham-Southern, Rhodes College and Millsaps College

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argonaut Swimmers will head on the road to Birmingham, Alabama this weekend to take on Birmingham-Southern, Rhodes College and Millsaps College. The Meet will start on Saturday afternoon at 1:30pm CT. This will be the first meet of the year that will feature the entire swim and dive team in action together.
 
UWF's swimming and diving team will look to build on their early success, after going 5-0 in their opening meets.
 
The UWF Divers took on Birmingham-Southern and Emory University in Tallahassee, Florida last weekend. West Florida defeated both Birmingham-Southern and Emory University by a combined score of 18-0 at the Morcom Aquatics Center. On the first day of competition the UWF Dive team had three divers (Kelsey DeJesusDaniela Reyes and Emilie Hunter) qualify for the National Preliminary in the 11-dive exhibition event.
 
West Florida's Swimmers completely dominated their competition in their first swim meet of the year. The Argos won all eleven individual events at the meet and both relays. UWF defeated Thomas University 160-49, Loyola New Orleans 157-69, and South Georgia College 159-68.
