FULL RESULTS
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The University of West Florida swimming and diving team turned in a strong performance in Tallahassee on Saturday afternoon with a pair of wins in a quad meet at Florida State. The Argonauts fell to FSU but defeated Florida Southern (259-63) and Division I opponent North Florida (195.5-117.5).
Argonauts swam good times and found high finishes in throughout the meet, starting with a win in the 100 Free for
Ester Rizzetto (50.95), which she won by more than a full second. Rizzetto also took second in the 500 Free (5:03.37) and the 50 Free (23.35), where she was just .11 seconds from matching event-winner Rebecca Moynihan.
Rizzetto was far from the only Argonaut with high finishes.
Yael Danieli took second in the 1000 Free (10:41.78) and
Morgan Ayers finished second in the 100 Breast (1:05.70), while also taking fourth in the 200 Breast (2:26.73).
Other top-five finishes included
Lisa Cottage-Ramnick in the 100 IM (fourth; 1:00.48) and 200 IM (fourth; 2:10.86),
Lauren Jonsson in the 1000 Free (fourth; 10:49.93), and Katie Balent in the 200 Fly (fourth; 2:09.26).
Caitlin Tierney (200 Free, 1:58.38),
Aubrey Miller (100 Back, 59.06), and
Manon Milczynski (200 Breast, 2:27.72) all finished fifth in their respective races.
West Florida also put together good relays, taking third in the 200 Free (1:38.15) and fourth in the 200 Medley (1:47.89). Tierney and Miller were on each of those relay teams.
West Florida looked sharp on the boards as well.
Kelsey DeJesus led UWF and finished third on each board, with a 256.35 on the 3-meter and a 248.67 on the 1-meter.
Next on the schedule is the Delta Diving Invitational, which runs from November 22-24 in Cleveland, Mississippi. From there, UWF will wrap up the fall season with a trip to the Spartan Invitational in Clearwater, Florida, from December 16-19.
