PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida swimming and diving team had a strong performance at Senior Day on Friday afternoon defeating Hendrix College 254-36 and falling to Division I opponent Tulane University 181-119.

The Argos had two swimmers place first in individual events today: juniorÂ
Morgan Ayers and sophomore
Ester Rizzetto. Ayers won the 100 Breast with a finals time of 1:05.48. Rizzetto won both the 50 Free (23.22) and the 100 Free (50.93).
West Florida looked sharp on the boards as well.Â
Kelsey DeJesus won both diving events at the meet on Friday, with a 258.50 on the 3-meter and a 281.50 on the 1-meter.
"I really enjoyed today. Our ladies were consistent on their dives and really showed what they could do. Looking forward towards Conference, we just need to keep on working on the small details to maximize the scores for ourselves and the team." UWF diving coach

West Florida won the 400 Medley Relay to begin the meet by finishing a finals time of 3:53.61. The relay team that finished in first place consisted of
Aubrey Miller,
Stefanie Markwardt, Ayers and Rizzetto.
"Overall I thought both the swimmers and divers did a great job. We have two more meets remaining, so the objective going forward is to continue to improve and to try and get some people in different events that they may not have been able to swim in the last couple of meets." UWF head coachÂ

Next on the schedule the Argos will travel to Birmingham, Alabama to take on Birmingham-Southern and Montevallo on Friday, January 17
th at 3pm CT.
