Swim & Dive Goes 2-0 at Friday’s Dual Meet

West Florida Faces Emory & Delta State on Saturday at 10 AM ET

FINAL RESULTS
 
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Argos started their weekend slate off with two victories at the Birmingham CrossPlex on Friday afternoon, beating Division I opponent Birmingham Southern College 180-62 and conference opponent Montevallo 202-35.
 
Lauren Jonsson gave the Argos their first individual win of the meet in the 1000 Freestyle by finishing with a time of 10:42.22.

West Florida had the top four finishes in the 50 Freestyle with Caitlin Chandler getting first place (25.07), Kathryn Mipro second (25.47), Lacey Radloff third (25.74), and Aubrey Miller fourth (25.97).  

Ester Rizzetto won the 100 Butterfly with a finals time of 56.40. Lisa Cottage-Ramnick finshed in second place (58.82) and Christina Clark placed third (1:00.28) in the event.

Sophomore Olivia Hadaway won the 100 Yard Backstroke event by posting a finals time of 59.36. Caitlin Tierney finished in first place in the 500 Freestyle with an impressive time of 5:07.00.

The Argos finished top three in both diving events on Friday. Kelsey DeJesus took first place in both diving events at the meet, finishing with 246.25 pts in the 3M and 232.05 pts in the 1M. Senior Carson Bronnenberg placed second in both events with a final score of 235.50 pts in the 3M and 229.20 pts. She participated in a 1M 11 Dive Exhibition as well at the meet and achieved a score of 392.30, which qualifies her for the National Preliminary. Daniela Reyes finished third in both the 3M (208.40 pts) and the 1M (223.90 pts). Reyes participated in the 1M 11 Dive Exhibition, getting a score of 399.60 pts giving her another qualification.    
 
UWF won both relays at today's meet. They started the day off by winning the 200 Medley by posting a finals time of 1:48.27. The four Argos who were a part of the winning team were Morgan Ayers, Stefanie Markwardt, Miller and Rizzetto. The Argonauts ended the meet by winning the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:38.08. Rizzetto, TierneyAbigail Williamson, and Markwardt were members of the UWF 200 Yard Freestyle team that finished in first place.
 
Next on the schedule the Argonauts will travel to Atlanta, Georgia to take on Emory University and Delta State on Saturday, January 18th at 10am ET.
