PENSACOLA, Fla. – West Florida will take on Ouachita Baptist Saturday morning at 9am CT in the UWF Aquatic Center. UWF owns a (3-0) all-time record against the Ouachita Baptist Tigers, defeating them 112-64 in 2015, 103-42 in 2017 and in 145-54 in 2019.
The Tigers have currently lost two straight and own a (1-2) overall record. Ouachita Baptist's one victory came against Loyola New Orleans by a final score of 148-111. West Florida also faced Loyola New Orleans earlier this season and defeated the Wolf Pack 157-69.
The Argos ended 2019 with an impressive showing in Clearwater, Florida at the Spartan Invitational that featured five total ranked teams in the field, including UWF.
At the Spartan Invitational No. 14 West Florida finished in third place with a total of 710.5 pts. The Argonauts fell to both Wingate and Tampa, who finished with 1128 pts and 876.5 pts respectively. Indian River, Lenoir Rhyne, Florida Southern, Saint Leo, Catawba and Nova Southeastern rounded out the field behind the Argos.
Sophomore
Ester Rizzetto has enjoyed a great start to the season, picking up four more first place finishes at the Spartan Invitational in the 100 Free (49.85), 200 IM (2:01.64), 50 Free (23.13) and the 100 Butterfly (54.72).
Diving will be competing in an exhibition during the breaks of the swim meet on Saturday.
