UWF Opens Home Slate with Dual Meet Loss to Tulane

UWF won five events in the meet

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Senior Ester Rizzetto won two individual events and UWF claimed five wins overall in a 187-111 loss to Tulane at the UWF Aquatic Center on Friday.
 
It was the first meet of the season for the UWF swimmers and the second for the divers.
 
Rizzetto's wins came in the 50 freestyle in 23.44 and the 100 freestyle in 51.49. Other individual winners for the Argonauts included junior Stefanie Markwardt with a 57.01 in the 100 butterfly and junior Kelsey DeJesus in the 3-meter diving competition with a 261.08, just over three points shy of an NCAA Diving Qualifier mark.
 
UWF's 200 free relay team of Markwardt, Rizzetto, sophomore Brooke Dorr and junior Abby Williamson touched first in 1:37.13.
 
The Argos will return to action in two weeks on Saturday, Oct, 30 when they face Florida State, Florida Southern and North Florida at the Marcom Aquatic Center in Tallahassee.
