COMPOSITE RESULTS
Pensacola, Fla.- No. 11 West Florida went 1-1 against Delta State and Emory. The Argonauts beat No. 18 Delta State 186-114 at the UWF Aquatic Center on Saturday to celebrate senior day and the last home meet of the season before NSISC championships. The Argonauts fell to Division III Emory 129-168.
Senior
Ester Rizzetto won two events at the meet, winning the 100 Freestyle (52.25) and 200 Freestyle (1:54.64).
Junior
Stefanie Markwardt also had a first-place finish in the 100 Butterfly with 56.59. Her teammate
Sydney Hartis touched fourth in the 200 Backstroke with 2:10.56.
In the 200-medley relay, the Argos came in second to Emory and Delta State with
Aubrey Miller,
Brooke Simila,
Olivia Hadaway, and
Brooke Dorr in 1:48.53.Â
Another senior
Yael Danieli touched fourth to Emory in the 1650 Freestyle with 18:10.29.
Freshman
Keely Stevenson came in first for UWF in the 400 IM with 4:37.59. Her teammate Danieli touched second in the 400 IM with 4:39.36.
In the 400 Freestyle relay, UWF finished first with
Stefanie Markwardt,
Brooke Dorr,
Kathryn Mipro, and
Ester Rizzetto in 3:32.04. The Argos took the lead in the final 100-yard of the relay to win first.
In the diving well, the Argos finished first in 1M and 3M competition with senior
Kelsey DeJesus. DeJesus posted a final score of 278 in the 1M and 290.10 in the 3M. Freshman
Michelle Mejia placed second in the 1M with 261.65.
Daniela Reyes placed second behind Emory and Delta State in the 3M (227.90). She also came in second behind Delta State's Gillian Pratt (229.15) in the 1M.
The Argonauts will look towards the NSISC Championships, which will take place Feb. 16-19 in Cleveland, Miss. West Florida finished first in the past two years at the NSISC Championships.
