FLORENCE, Ala. – It was another record-breaking day for Zach Fenton, as the sophomore led the University of West Florida men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the UNA Invitational. The Argonauts finished ahead of Wallace State, Miles, UT Southern, Millsaps, and Calhoun CC.
 
Fenton, who finished third overall, broke his own school record with a 24:35.96 in the 8K, besting the 24:46 that he ran at last year's Gulf South Conference Championships. With today's performance, Fenton now holds four of the seven fastest 8K times in UWF history.
 
Freshman Nathan Deboutez debuted with a top-10 finish in his first career race, clocking a 26:01.31. Fellow freshman Parker Nunley ran a 27:11.21 to claim 27th overall in a field of more than 110. Deboutez was the highest-placing freshman in the field on Saturday, and Nunley was the third-fastest.
 
Senior Jack Forbes ran a 27:44.08 to take 39th overall and Ivan De La Cruz finished right behind him with a 27:46.89.
 
Cademon Galloway (28:25.39) and Tristan Woods (29:03.84) rounded out UWF's lineup.
 
The team will have a week off before hosting the Argonaut Invitational on September 23. The women's race will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, with donuts available for the first 100 fans in attendance.
