TALLAHASSEE, Fla - The No. 8 West Florida Swimming and Diving earned two wins in their triple dual meet on Friday afternoon. UWF traveled to Florida State and competed in the Marcom Aquatic center where they defeated Florida Southern 233-59 and North Florida 207-86, and fell to the Division 1 Florida State Seminoles 231-68.

From the Blocks

The Argos started their meet day with the 200m medley consisting of Nina Imboden, Emily O'Connell, Lutnya Bogdanova, and Aimee Patterson who placed fourth with a time of 1:48.56. 

Freshman Riley MacVane started her meet strong with a strong top-3 finish, placing third in the 1,000 yard free with a time of 10:30.61. MacVane was followed by her freshman teammate Aubrey Klausner who placed fourth with a time of 10:52.69. 

In the 200 yard free, Riley MacVane continued her feats, placing fifth with a time of 1:55.02. Teammate Sofia Kendzior finished shortly after her, earning 7th with her time of 1:56.50. Shannah Dillman placed 8th on the afternoon in the 200 free with her time of 1:58.90.

Nina Imboden and Brooke Dorr took fifth and sixth place in the 100 yard backstroke. Imboden swam a sub 60 time of 59.07, and Dorr joined her in the sub 60 club with a time of 59.88 for the afternoon. 

In the 100 yard breast stroke, freshman Olivia Copland swam a top three time with an impressive 1:06.67 to earn third in her race. 

In the 200 yard fly, Sydney Hartis placed fifth on the day with her time of 2:11.52. Freshman Sydney Lewis got her name on the score sheet with her third place finish in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.08. Lewis is one of many freshman who have come in and created a big impact on the team. 

Senior Brooke Dorr earned herself a top three finish on the afternoon, placing third in the 100 yard free with a time of 52.82. Aimee Patterson placed sixth swimming a 53.55, and Sam Packard followed shortly behind, earning seventh with a time of 54.56.

Nina Imboden scored fourth on the 200 yard backstroke, swimming a 2:07.35. Freshman Olivia Copland continued her strong feats of the day, placing a strong second place in the 200 yard breast stroke, swimming an impressive 2:23.59.

Riley MacVane kept showing up for her team as the freshman placed fourth in the 500 yard freestyle, swimming a 5:06.80. Sofia Kendzior placed sixth swimming a 5:09.23, and Aubrey Klausner followed, placing seventh with her time of 5:12.46.

Freshman Sydney Lewis came up big in the 100 yard butterfly, placing second with a time 57.11. 

Shannah Dillman swam a 2:10.96 on the day to earn herself a fourth place finish in the 200 yard IM. Ellie Rothfuss placed sixth swimming a 2:11.43, and Olivia Copland earned seventh with a time of 2:11.98. 

In the final race of the evening, the UWF Argos earned a third place finish with a time of 1:37.47. The squad consisted of Sofia Kendzior, Brooke Dorr, Sydney Lewis, andAimee Patterson.

In The Diving Well

On the 1m board, the Argos showed great strength overall. Sophomore Jade Fontenelle earned second place with her final score of 279.20. Adriana Mieses-Sanchez followed Fontenelle, placing third on the afternoon with a score of 278.90. Olivia Nelson placed sixth with a score of 248.10.

As the ladies ascended to the 3m board, the Argos continued to work hard. Jade Fontenelle placed third with a final score of 278.70. Olivia Nelson placed fifth on the day with a final score of 254.50. Adriana Mieses-Sanchez placed sixth, scoring a 231.90.
