PENSACOLA, Fla. - The eighth-ranked UWF women's swimming and diving team won six events and gave Tulane all it could handle before falling, 166-133, in a dual meet at the UWF Aquatics Center on Friday night.
Sydney Lewis won two individual events, out-touching the field in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly before giving UWF the edge in the leadoff leg of the winning 200 free relay.
Riley MacVane won the 200 freestyle and was part of the 200 free relay as she and Lewis were joined by
Brooke Dorr and
Aimee Patterson.
Dorr had a strong meet, finishing in the top two in all four events, winning gold in the 100 free and 200 free relay, with runner-up performances in the 100 fly and 400 medley relay.
Shannah Dillman had three top five swims for the Argonauts, touching first in the 400 individual medley, third in the 1000 freestyle and fifth in the 200 breaststroke.Â
On the diving boards,
Jade Fontenelle continued her nationals-level diving to start the season, scoring a 267.75 for second place on the 3-meter and 242.78 on the high board.
Olivia Nelson was third on the 3-meter and Adriana Mieses Sanchez was second on the 1-meter.
UWF will return to action Wednesday, Nov. 8 at Montevallo.
