Argos Set Eight New Pool Records in Montevallo

UWF Defeats Falcons 171.5-82.5

MONTEVALLO, Ala - 
The UWF Women's Swimming team traveled north to Montevallo to compete in a mid-week matchup on Wednesday to continue their strong season. Eight pool record for their aquatic center were set by the team in both relays,100, 200, 500, 1000 Free,100 back, and 100 fly.

Pool Records

400 Yard Medley:
The core four consisting of Nina Imboden, Olivia Copland, Sydney Lewis, and Brooke Dorr started the meet off incredibly strong as they set then new pool record with a time of 3:58.29. 

1000 Free: Sofia Kendzior crushed her race in the 1000 free with the new record time of 10:51.73. The sophomore out-swam her opponents by nearly 30 seconds, with her teammate Sarah Lypko swimming a 11:20.60.

200 Free: Freshman Aubrey Klausner made a great impression at Montevallo after her feat in the 200 free swimming an impressive 1:57.29 to set the new pool record.

100 Fly: The NSISC swimmer of the month, Sydney Lewis, set the new pool record on the Falcons territory in the 100 fly with a time of 56.86. 

100 Free: Another freshman who has been making a great impression in her first year is Riley MacVane. MacVane swam the new pool record in the 100 free with a time of 53.55.

100 Back: Sydney Lewis continued to make way in the dual meet as she earned another pool record in the 100 back by swimming a 58.93 on the day.

500 Free: Shannah Dillman earned her name in the record book for UM SAC Natatorium in the 500 free swimming a 5:14.35. Dillman out-swam her opponents by a margin of nearly 25 seconds. 

400 Free Relay: The core of Sydney Lewis, Aimee Patterson, Riley MacVane, and Brooke Dorr ended the day on a high note by setting the final pool record in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:36.07. 

Additional Details

The Argos also came in first in five other races during their meet, with only earning a second place finish in one race. UWF now extends their record to 5-2 as they prepare for their Gravy Bowl next weekend. 

The UWF Diving Team travels to Tuscaloosa to compete against the D1 program of Alabama in a dual matchup. Diving coach Barb Parker is an alumni of Alabama, and has expressed her excitement at competing on her old grounds.

The divers will kick off their day at 5pm, on Friday, November 10th.
